We have seen players from India trying and trying and few ever made it to gold. But it seems not so this time, they now have the capability to get gold in Tokyo Olympics.
Indian Star Sprinter Himadas is honorably appointed as the DSP of Assam Police for her excellence in sports, is currently preparing to get qualified for Tokyo Olympics. She also said she dreamt of being a police officer and she became one now through sports.
“I got everything due to sports, I will try to work for betterment of sports in the state and try to make Assam one of the best performing states in the country, like Haryana.” Said Hima Das “I will diligently work for Assam Police but I must say sport will never take a back seat.”
Even in Archery India now found an ace archer in the form of Komalika Bari, a Jharkhand star who became just the third Indian to win the gold medal at the World Archery Youth Championships in 2019 is also in the primary selected qualifying team for Tokyo Olympics along with star Archer Deepika Kumari.
Bari, the teenager, who made her international debut at the South Asian championship in early 2019, made her way to ensure her spot in the Indian side for selected events including Archery World Cup and Tokyo Olympics.
The AAI picked eight men’s and eight women’s archers in the recurve section for Tokyo Olympics. They will be shortlisted to three members from each group in the final selection trials, to be held in Army Sports Institute, Pune, from March 5th to 9th.
