Versatile South Indian Actress Poorna is best known for her roles in Avnu and Rajugari Gadhi franchises. Her real name is Shamna Kasim, hails from a fisherman’s family in Kerala, started her career as a classical dancer and came into the film industry after her participation in the dance reality show Super Dancer on Amrita TV.

She always endeavours to choose versatile role be they small, rather than monotonous. She also appeared in Rama Rama song in Super Star Mahesh Babu starrer Srimanthudu. She will be seen in an upcoming movie of Nandamuri Balakrishna.


She spoke to a media source that She’s been in the industry for over sixteen years and all through her career she’s done roles that she found interesting, also becoming a part of cameos and special songs too. So what matters to her is the impact her role creates and she never had any qualms about the length of her screen time.

She also shared her experience about signing Balakrishna’s forthcoming film directed by Boyapati Sreenu; that she signed the film for the intensity that surrounds her role.

She also said that she heard several scripts in which she’ll be seen throughout the film, leaving no impact in the minds of the audiences once they step out of the theatre. “Now, why would I play such roles? I’d rather be pleased to play a cameo that creates a lasting impression.” She adds.
